Vinyl Floor Removal

LVP, LVT & Sheet Vinyl Removal in DFW

Planks, tiles, sheet vinyl — and the pressure-sensitive adhesive underneath. Pulled cleanly, dust controlled, slab left install-ready.

Vinyl Floor Removal Across DFW

Vinyl flooring has taken over DFW remodels for a reason — it's tough, water-resistant, and easy to live with. It's also a pain to remove cleanly, especially the glue-down kind. Dust Kingz pulls LVP, LVT, and sheet vinyl across the entire DFW metroplex, including the adhesive layer that most demo crews leave behind.

What's Included

  • Floating LVP and click-system removal
  • Glue-down LVP and LVT removal
  • Sheet vinyl removal (including the felt or fiber backing)
  • Pressure-sensitive adhesive scrape and grind
  • HEPA dust capture during any grinding
  • Baseboard removal and labeling on request
  • Same-day haul-off and disposal

Who This Is For

Homeowners replacing builder-grade LVP with something nicer. Remodelers and general contractors who want demo and adhesive removal handled as one scope. Flooring companies who'd rather have a clean slab handed to their installers than fight glue residue themselves. Designers prepping whole-home remodels. Investors and property managers turning units between tenants.

Our Dust-Control Process

1. Identify the floor. Floating click-system, glue-down LVP/LVT, or sheet vinyl — and what's underneath (slab or wood). That decides the tools and the timeline.

2. Protect what stays. Ram board on stays-down flooring and clean pathways to the truck. When we have to grind glue off the slab, HEPA capture at the tool keeps dust out of the rest of the home — no plastic walls or HVAC shutdowns required as a default. On the rare job that calls for it, we add containment as a backup.

3. Pull the floor. Floating systems lift fast. Glue-down LVP and LVT come up plank by plank. Sheet vinyl is scored into strips and pulled. The glue layer stays behind — that's the next step.

4. Tackle the adhesive. Scrape and chip what comes up easy. HEPA-shrouded grinders for the stubborn pressure-sensitive adhesive that won't budge. Slab comes back clean.

5. Walk and verify. Substrate swept, walk-through with you before we leave.

Why Clean Removal Matters Before New Flooring

New LVP, tile, and hardwood all need a flat, clean substrate. Leftover adhesive causes hollow spots, telegraphed bumps, and click-system failures. It's also the most common reason flooring warranties don't pay out. Doing the substrate right is what protects the new floor for the next decade.

Vinyl Floor Removal FAQ

What's the difference between LVP, LVT, and sheet vinyl?
LVP is luxury vinyl plank — long planks that click together or glue down. LVT is luxury vinyl tile — square tiles, often glued. Sheet vinyl is a single continuous roll glued across the whole floor. All three are pulled differently, and the glue underneath is what decides how long the job takes.
How do you remove glue-down LVP or LVT?
We score and pry the planks or tiles up first, then go after the pressure-sensitive adhesive underneath with scrapers and (when needed) HEPA-shrouded grinders. The slab is left clean and ready for new install — not a sticky mess for the next installer to deal with.
Can you remove sheet vinyl with felt or asbestos backing?
We remove modern sheet vinyl routinely. If you suspect older vinyl with asbestos-containing backing, we'll flag it and recommend testing before removal — that's a regulated abatement process, not a standard demo.
How long does vinyl floor removal take?
Floating click-systems come up fast — most DFW homes in a few hours. Glue-down LVP, LVT, and sheet vinyl take longer because of the adhesive; typical whole-home jobs are one to two days.
Will the slab be ready for new flooring?
Yes. We scrape and grind adhesive residue down to a clean slab so the next floor — new LVP, tile, hardwood, or polished concrete — bonds and lays correctly.
