FAQs

What should I do to prepare for the Dust Kingz team?

  • Before our team arrives, please remove all furniture and other items from floors and/or any other area in which we will be working. If we are only removing flooring, there's no need to clear out pantry, cabinet, or closet shelves, thanks to our dust-free process.

Will you move large items like refrigerators or couches?

  • Generally we prefer not to move items in your home however sometimes we understand that it may be necessary. We can move large appliances or large pieces of furniture to help the project go smoothly. However, the more that's done before we arrive, the more efficient we can be.

Do I need to remove baseboards?

  • We will remove baseboards for an additional fee. We will also assess the possibility of being able to reuse the old baseboards on a case by case basis. It is usually best to replace with new because it is often difficult to avoid damage to the base board during the removal process.

What happens if you discover unforeseen issues during the demo?

  • Occasionally, we encounter "demo-and-discover" situations where unexpected issues arise. We will communicate any significant modifications to the original plan before moving forward. These situations don’t automatically mean a change in cost, but we will discuss it with you if necessary.

Will the Dust Kingz team need access to a bathroom during the project?

  • Yes, our team will need access to a bathroom during the project. We will verify with you which restroom(s) are available for our use while we are at your home. If you'd prefer that we do not use any of your restrooms, please let us know, and we can plan to go off premises as needed. Additionally, please inform us if there are any areas of your property that are off-limits, so we can respect your space accordingly.

How long will the demolition or remodeling project take?

  • The duration of the project depends on the scope and size of the work being done. Usually, average flooring removal  and other demo projects take a day or two with many being completed same-day. We provide a time estimate when scheduling your project, and our team works efficiently to complete the job within the estimated timeframe. We also communicate with you throughout the process, especially if any unforeseen circumstances arise that may affect the timeline.

Do I need to be home during the project?

  • You do not need to be home while we work, but we recommend being available for the start of the project or being reachable by phone. This way, we can quickly address any questions or decisions that may arise during the work.

What measures do you take to protect my home during the project?

  • We take several precautions to protect your home, including using dust barriers when needed and floor coverings in high-traffic areas. Our dustless removal process also minimizes airborne particles, keeping your space as clean as possible. Additionally, our team cleans up at the end of each day, even during multi-day projects.

What types of payment do you accept?

  • We accept various forms of payment, including credit cards, checks, and electronic payments. Financing is offered through Hearth. Payment terms will be discussed and agreed upon before the start of your project.

Can I make changes to the project after it has started?

  • We understand that sometimes changes need to be made. If you wish to make changes after the project has started, please communicate with us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate your requests, but please note that changes may affect the project timeline and cost.
